Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I’m Dave I love my family and thank the Lord for a wonderful life. I recently retired and enjoy having more time to spend with family and working in the church. My wonderful wife Ginny and I have been married for almost 40 years. We have 3 great children and 7 beautiful grandchildren. I spent 35 years working for the state of Arizona as an IT project manager, recently retired, and now work in real estate. My family and I have always enjoyed camping and hiking throughout the great outdoors of Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born the youngest of 7 children to a loving couple who embraced the Mormon church in their lives, just as their parents did. They taught me to love the Lord, to read the scriptures, and to look to the example of our Elder Brother, Jesus Christ. When we met, my wife was a single mother of 2 beautiful young daughters, and not a member of the Mormon church. As we talked about our love for each other and desire to form a family, she quickly recognized the good in the church’s youth programs and saw how that could help us raise our children in a safe environment. Since then, Ginny has been my guiding light and example of service to others through her work in the youth and women’s programs in the church. I have been blessed with opportunities to serve in callings in the church where I was able to help others and so grow myself. As a youth, I was extremely shy; my church callings gave me the reason and opportunity to overcome that shyness and better express myself to others. When our son was a youth, I was able to work as a scout leader in his troop and to take him with me to visit and provide service to others in our congregation. These experiences taught me that the Lord’s Plan of Salvation reaches into all our lives and touches us in so many ways. Christ’s life is a life of examples to all of us of how we should feel, think, and act. The scriptures are a wonderful source of eternal truths which apply to all of us. As I face challenges in this life, I know that I am never alone and that I have a model to follow that will guide me through those challenges.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a counselor to the bishop in our local congregation. Every day I see the power of the lord as people are blessed in their lives by the selfless love and support of those in our ward congregation. I have the opportunity to help guide some of that love, and it is a powerful blessing to me to see people’s lives changed for the better.
