Hi I'm Drew

I'm hard of hearing, serving an ASL mission, and I'm a mormon

About Me

WELL, first off I love to do anything outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, motorbiking, snowmobiling, white water rafting, swimming or just running. I still have yet to get into boxing and rock climbing but it's on the list! I also have a passion for music, I can listen to everything! preferably some good o'l country or even some nice relaxing classical piano. I can myself play the piano, I would say I can play well, but nothing too fancy. In high school I was involved with the swim team, theater/musical theater, choir, (including chamber choir). Loved every minute of it! Now I'm 20 yrs old, serving a mission in Tucson Arizona in ASL (American Sign Language). I will be done in October 2012! I love my mission, I am so blessed to have the oppertunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the deaf community. I know that it is true.... After the mission I will most likely attend Utah State University then, after completing my undergraduate years, I will then apply and move over to Utah University and then, medical school. Yes I know that will require hard work and A's on my report card, but I can do it! I hope...... Anyway That is a little about me!

Why I am a Mormon

Really, I don't have a really amazing experience that was a deciding factor in my life of why I'm a "mormon". I grew up Mormon, my mom and dad are mormon, so is the rest of my family tracing back to the 1800's soon after The Prophet, Joseph Smith, had sent missionaries out to England and caused my Great Great Great grandpa to come to Utah and settle in Cache Valley, in a town now named Clarkston (where is near the Logan, Utah area). The point I am bringing is I never had trouble learning about our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I knew how to pray! I knew, at a very young age how to be a good person! I have been blessed A LOT! But, it wasn't until later in my life I had truly asked the very serious question if it was all really true. If this religion I have grown up into was real. How could I know that it all wasn't really just something to satisfy difficult questions like: where did we come from, why are we hear, and where are we going. ?? I suppose it took a hard hit on me. Why am I here? After very difficult times in my life, including death of family and a few friends, I decided to do what Joseph has done, follow the direction of the apostle James, ( found in the bible James 1:5) that is ask god. So after reading the Book of Mormon, studying the Bible, I choose to ask god. The experience I had was a feeling unlike anything I have felt before that is, love of peace, almost like a wave just came over me bringing me to tears. That is why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, aka Mormon. Not because of my parents but because of myself searching for truth and with a real intent and a sincere heart. I know that I am part of god's fold I am under the savior's wing. I have the truth, that is why I am serving this mission, because I know it is true. I can testify of these thing in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

With love, faith and patience. I do the best I can and rely that the lord will teach me and guide me to do better!
