Hi I'm Tamra

I teach children. I collect children's books. I love playing board games with friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved to Georgia from Utah when I was eight and have been here ever since. I love Georgia even though it is very humid and hot. I am 30 and single and that has made me grow and become closer to my Heavenly Father and have had many priceless experiences and learned so many awesome lessons about the love our Savior has for us, about life and about myself. I have a AS degree in Psychology and a BA in Early Childhood Education. I have been a director of a Early Learning Child Care Academy but missed teaching so much I returned to my passion. I currently teach GA Pre-K and I love to see the face of a child when they lite up when they finally grasp a concept or accomplish a task. I believe: A child's face is a window into God's face. I love to read and even collect children's books. I have over 400 books. I have a goal one day to be an author of a children's book and working on that goal now. I also love to decorate and to plan parties or weddings and have done many of my friends reception and love to make something look beautiful. My two relaxing passions are watching and experiencing movies with friends and playing strategic board games that really make your mind think.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon. This church brings me so much happiness and peace in a world that is crazy. I grew up as a Mormon but everyone has to find out for them self that is it true and gain that testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ and His True Church. There have been many experiences in my life to make me realize that this church is true even before this one but this one I remember when I was 21 and thinking about my life and what I needed to do and thinking about going on a mission and teach the gospel. I wanted to know what was right for me and what what was true. I took out my Book of Mormon and read a couple of my favorite scriptures that I read when I am struggling with a decision and then opened it up to Moroni 103 -5, where I was told as a child to ask Heavenly Father and He will tell you. I then felt this inner peace and overcome with so much love like someone was wrapping their arms around me and giving me a big hug and I just knew I knew that everything I was taught as a child and everything I learned on my own was true. I remember thinking "How could it not be true?" It just makes sense. It just feels so amazingly right and the joy it brings to me knowing that our Savior, Jesus Christ lives and that he made it possible for me and everyone else to return to our Heavenly Father and to become perfect like Him. The peace that it brings when I think that we have a prophet on the earth today to help us, guide us and how cool is it that he receives revelation from our Heavenly Father for our day! The love I feel when I read the Book of Mormon and other scriptures knowing Heavenly Father is speaking to me. The strength Heavenly Father gives to me when I pray to Him with a concern or problem and the love that follows knowing He is listening and wants me to be the best I can be and He will be there through whatever trial or problem comes. Heavenly Father has shown me in so many ways that this is His church and I am grateful I am Mormon!!

How I live my faith

I love to serve my Heavenly Father and I love the many opportunities I have had to live my faith. I started at a young age living my faith and had many opportunities to be the youth president of the young women and help plan activities that would bring the youth closer to our Savior. I did serve a mission at the age of 21 for the church and went to Fresno, California and loved every minute of that experience and the people that I was able to share the gospel with. When I returned to Ga I was able to serve the Young Single Adults in the Atlanta Area of my faith. I helped planning monthly dances, monthly activities, service projects, where we went out into the community and served where needed, and planned many annually conferences where we could learn more about our Savior and His plan for us as well as get to know each other and meet new people. I also have had the pleasure of working with the youth in the Lilburn , Ga area, as an adult and aided them as they plan the activities and service projects for their peers. Currently I live my faith still working with the Young Single Adults in the Lilburn area but keeping them informed of the activities that are coming up and send a weekly email out with all the details for each activity. I also currently work at the temple and help in any way that is needed. I live my standards and follow my beliefs and try to always follow the advice to leave someone's life better than I found them. I love life and every experience it throws at me and try to be better person because of it. :) I know that all of my abilities and talents that I have are given to me by my Heavenly Father and nothing I accomplish in my life is not done without a lot of support and help of Him. I want people to meet me and hopefully through me become closer t our Savior, Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. They are the reason of who I am. I love being Mormon!!
