Hi I'm Tyson

I grew up in Texas. I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Family has always played a huge part in my life. I am the youngest of five kids and have always looked up to my older brothers and sister. I enjoy playing tennis, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. After High School, I studied business at BYU and am now serving as a full-time missionary for the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have grown up in the church with my family. It has helped me have a true sense of purpose in life. Living the commandments helps me avoid many of the tragedies that result from making bad choices. In a world of constantly changing values, the gospel is the only source of true peace and happiness. I'm a Mormon because I know these things are true and I know that any sincere seeker of truth will come to the same conclusion as they study and pray about the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have a true desire to help others because I know that they are children of God and have divine potential. For that reason I served as a full-time mission in Oakland, California where I greatly enjoyed helping others develop a true relationship with God through learning about His restored gospel. Truly there is no greater calling in life than being an instrument in the Lord's hands to bring about the salvation of souls!

In whom should we have faith?

Tyson
There is only one Who has the power to save us. As we exercise perfect faith in Jesus Christ we can receive the strength to overcome all things. We all experience trials and although most people have the best intentions, we all fall short. It is written that no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God and thus it is necessary to rely on a power greater than our own to return to our Heavenly Father. That power is the atonement of Jesus Christ that has the power to heal all wounds, especially sin. Show more Show less

How does the Church finance its operations?

Tyson
As practiced anciently, the restored Church of Jesus Christ relies on the tithes of its people to forward the work of the Lord. The word tithing signifies 10 percent which is what the Lord asks of all of His followers including those who may be struggling financially as exemplified by the widow's mite in the New Testament. As we pay a full tithe the Lord promises to open the windows of heaven upon us such that we will not have room enough to receive them (Malachi 3:8-10). I personally have experienced these blessings in my own life. Recently I was trying to find a job before I graduate college and despite my best efforts to attend career fairs, go to information sessions of visiting employers, and applying to different businesses I had no luck. On top of that a scholarship that I normally receive at the start of each semester hadn't come and I was completely out of money. As soon as the scholarship came in I paid my tithing and hoped that the funds would last. Within a week I received an E-mail from a fortune 50 company inviting me to come out to interview with them. The interview went extremely well and I was offered a job on the spot! I know that this was not mere coincidence. The Lord wants to bless us and as we pay a full tithe we qualify for blessings much greater than the sacrifices we make to Him. Show more Show less
