Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon. A convert to the church. Been a member since 1989. Can't imagine being anything but a Mormon.

About Me

II am a 66 year old male. I retired last fall after working for 21 years at Colorado State University. I have worked in the computer field since 1970. After spending 40 plus years stuck inside, I am presently looking for a job that would allow me to get out side aa good part of the time. I am married and have 5 kids. 4 boys and 1 girl. 2 of the boys and the girl are step children. Can't really call them kids as they range in age from 42 to 26. We have 11 Grand kids. 6 granddaughters and 5 grandsons. They range in age from 19 to 2. Hobbies. We have 2 horses, 2 dogs and 2 dozen chickens that keep semi active. We live in the country and love it.

Why I am a Mormon

It took me a long long time to find the church and a lot longer to finally join. It all started while attending classes necessary to be confirmed in the Lutheran church. My parents were Lutheran and us kids were required to join the church also. While sitting in one of these classes on evening, I suddenly had this thought come over me that this was not God's church. That what was being taught in that class was not coming from God. From that point on, nothing that was being taught was being absorbed in my brain. After I graduated from High School I began searching for the true church. Every Sunday I would attend a different church looking for God's church, and each Sunday came away empty. After about 6 months of this, I gave up going to church all together. Then in the early 70's my Landlord who was LDS introduced my wife and I to the church. I new this was the church as soon as I was first introduced to it. How ever, at this time there was a lot going on in our lives and joining the church was put on a back burner. Finally, in 1989 we decided it was time, We needed to be baptised and join the church. We shocked the Missionaries by calling them and having them come by. We were involved with 4 missionaries before being baptised and none of them h

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each Sunday, and fullfilling the duties of my callings to the very best of my ability. I try to live the gospel as Heavenly Father wants me to live it.
