Hi I'm Robyn

I'm a Mormon. I am a mother, a wife, a teacher, a learner, and I love to have FUN!

About Me

I am a mother of three, ages 7, 4, and 2.5 (two girls and a boy) and hope to have another child soon if God wills. I graduated from the university with an associates degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor degree in Applied Management. My husband is an artist and my best friend! I love the outdoors, gardening, learning, and cooking! I teach piano lessons and maintain a studio of about 15 students during the school months of Sept-May and then play all summer with the kids! I love to swim, hike, camp, run (I ran my first 5k race this summer), study nutrition, go on dates with my husband, have girls nights with my girlfriends, play the piano and sing. My kids constantly tell me I am silly, so I guess it must be so! But who wants to be serious all the time? This summer was the first time I have ever been on a SlipnSlide- yep, me! Joined right in with the kids- and let me tell you- it is really FUN! I love reading historical fiction and learning about where the world has been and looking forward to where it is going.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I am Mormon? I believe hope is the most powerful motivating force in our world today, and the gospel of Jesus Christ, as restored by our Prophet, Joseph Smith gives one hope in their lives. Hope for a future with our Father in Heaven, hope for happiness if we follow His commandments, hope for a life devoid of pain and strife if we endure this life well, hope for friends and marital/family relationships that are true and eternal, hope for the strength to endure trials and hard times, and hope that I will become perfect one day! I testify that as I have followed Christ's commandments and exercised my agency to choose to live my life in accordance to His teachings and gospel principles, that I am happy. My life is full of hope for the future and a faithful outlook for the good in the world. Many times in my life when I have questioned the meaning of things and why a certain instance happened or is happening I have felt the Spirit of the Lord, the Holy Ghost comfort my heart and lift my spirit to be able to not necessarily understand the whys and the hows, but the understand the God loves me and knows me and is in control of the world. This knowledge and the feelings of the Spirit carry me through many trying times when I feel as though I am falling into a pit and need a rope to climb out. But the best part, is that it is ALWAYS there! God is constant! God is real, and He loves all of us and knows us and wants our eternal happiness- and He is working to make that happen if we hold our end of the deal- I love making a deal with God! I love my Savior and I am forever in His debt for His atoning sacrifice that allows me to repent and become clean and to start over so many times. The Hope that these things give me is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the Lord's church by playing the organ each Sunday in the chapel during our sacrament meeting and also serving as a Cub Scout Committee Member for the boys in our area. I have served before this time through teaching the gospel and teaching music with the young women in the church, the younger children ages 3-11, and also as the music director for the choir, sacrament meeting and adult women. I meet with and teach 3 women in our church area that I have been assigned to with a companion teacher, also a woman, monthly and help them feel the Spirit in the homes and learn the gospel, we call this a Visiting Teaching assignment. Every woman has the opportunity to have a Visiting Teaching assignment where ever they are! It is a fun way to get to know women in your area and to talk and learn about them and their families and serve them when they have needs. I also believe that being a mother is a calling from the Lord, and shows a life of faith. I have 3 children that I love dearly and could not imagine my life feeling fulfilled without them! I love that the gospel teaches that families can be together forever if we are faithful to covenants we make in His holy temples. Motherhood is the greatest and most far reaching assignment that the Lord has for His children and I am honored to be a co-creator with Him in fulfilling this role He has given to His daughters.
