Hi I'm Brent

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three boys pursuing an orthodontic residency. I am married to the love of my life for nearly 7 years. We enjoy family time and love to swim, play soccer, and hike as a family. We just moved from Virginia so we are transitioning to a new area.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and saw the blessings of living the gospel early in my life. My parents loved the gospel and they taught it to all eight of their children. When I turned eight years old I was baptized by my father and felt the peace and comfort of following what my Heavenly Father wanted me to do. I knew that I was doing what I was supposed to be doing. Years later, when I was a teenager, I remember finishing the Book of Mormon and praying to know of its truth. The feelaing of peace and love that I felt helped to confirm what I had already known and that the truths contained in that marvelous book were truly from God and meant to help us while we are here on earth. I later served a full-time mission to Quito, Ecuador. A few years after returning home, I was sealed to my wife for time and all eternity. I know the Lord loves us and has provided many ways that we can see his hand in our lives and know that He is there and that He loves us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good and loving husband and father. We teach our children everyday another scriptural story and principle and try to help them to learn the teachings of Jesus. Mondays are a special day that we are able to meet and discuss the teachings of Jesus as a family. My children love to act out the stories from the scriptrures and it is great to hear them tell other kids about the "cool" stories from the scriptures. The church offers many ways to serve and to help. Before moving I worked with the youth in Virginia. We correlated many of our activities with the Boy Scout program and provided teaching and service opportunities within the area. I was always amazed at the devotion that the youth had to the church and how good they can be. The youth of the church had direction and weren't swayed by their peers in choosing inappropriate activites. They were happy and knew that Jesus loved them I was also a teacher for a group of 5 year old children. Every week was a blessing as I taught them of the stories of Jesus and they taught me of love and forgiveness that comes so easily to children.
