Hi I'm Shari

I grew up in rural mountain west of the US. I am a mother and a grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spend a lot of time with my grandchildren and that brings joy in my life. I garden and read and try to be involved in my community.

Why I am a Mormon

I love that my church and my religion helps me to be a better person. I love that it helps me to be a person of honor and integrity. I have been less involved with church in the past and have found over the years that faith helps me get through hard things in life. And knowing that makes me want to be more involved. I choose to continue being Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon. Thats it. I have read it and know that it is truly what it claims to be....a real book written in ancient America that helps me better understand Jesus Christ and his love for me. Just as the Bible helps me understand Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon helps me understand Jesus Christ and God's love and plan for me.

How I live my faith

I spend a lot of my free time organizing and running the program of the church for children from 18 months to 12 years old. It is called Primary. I love being with the children and sharing my experiences and love of the church with them. The church has programs for children such as cub scouts for the boys and Activity days for the girls where they can have fun, be together and also learn how to work as a group and learn. We all have "callings' or jobs in the church. It isn't run by a paid clergy nor are any of the "callings" paid. So we all do our part to make the church organizations work. My job right now is to make sure all the parts and programs that are for children are functioning. And that the children are safe and being taught. I love that I get to spend so much time with children. They are bright and sweet and remind me that if Jesus were to actually be on earth, He would want to be with the children also.
