Hi I'm Quin

I'm back in school after 16 years of teaching. I love my family, the beach and Zumba. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful, handsome man and mother to two awesome sons! One son is a junior in college and the other is a senior in high school. I love to just "hang out" with them and we enjoy movies and baseball games. Although I've taught in the public schools for 16 years, I am now able to fianlly pursue my "dream" career in medicine! I am back in school, learning to be a Physician's Assistant and enjoying every minute of it!!! In my spare time, I love to read memoirs and thrillers, play in my garden and I am addicted to Zumba fitness! I am so grateful for the fabulous friends I have and like to go to movies or out to eat with them.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I didn;t have any religious instruction. My father is an athiest and my mom believes in God, but is ambiguous about the whole organized religion thing. Both of my parents said I could decide for myself when I was old enough. I went to many different churches with friends as I grew up, but none felt right - some were downright scary! I gave up and decided to just try and be a good person, believe in God and see what happened. Then my brother met and married an LDS girl. I had known Mormons in my life and always thought they were great people, but never investigated their doctrine. My brother went through some really hard times, but I saw what a difference the gospel made in his life once he was baptized. I started asking questions of a Mormon friend of mine and she sent the missionaries over to my house. It was the sign I needed and I have never looked back! Since being baptized, my life has purpose and meaning. I found an instant family in the Church and feel a real belonging and peace. I met my husband, we were married in the temple and I know we will be a family for all eternity! What a blessing and a comfort to know that death will never seperate us!!!

How I live my faith

Since joining the Church I have tried to live the faith the best that I can everyday. Part of what attracted me to the Curch was that the members lived the Gospel every minute of everyday. I try to do as Christ would in my life by giving my time and efforts to others by serving in my ward and community. Currently, I work with the young women. These girls are amazing in their strength and faith! I love seeing them blossom from 12 year-old girls to awesome young women who serve faithfully. I try to be an example to others in the community. My family has adopted several impoverished families for Christmas the past few years and that has been tremendously rewarding. I have made many close friends through the visiting teaching program and I am grateful that I have people to call on when I am in need.
