Hi I'm Larissa

I'm going to spend 18 months of my life in Argentina. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have a very loving personality. I truly value friendship and every relationship that I have. I'm so excited to meet new friends and create relationships that will last forever as I serve my Heavenly Father by bringing the gospel to His children in Argentina! I love to laugh and smile and have fun. My motto (corny as it is) Live, Laugh, Love is how I try to approach life's hardships :) I'm a very active person. I played volleyball and basketball for my college, Southern Virginia University! Although I'm not the aspiring dancer, actor, and singer that I am athlete, I do love to perform. I also love singing, acting and dancing just because it's fun! I've been in a couple musicals and several school plays and hope to return to the stage someday! Family is the most important part of my life. My family means everything to me. It was really hard for me to leave my 4 younger siblings and parents when I went to college and it will be hard to be away for the next year and a half. Also, I said goodbye to my best friend, Aaron, who is also serving a mission in Boise, Idaho. We are going to serve our Heavenly Father and teach about our Savior until we are finally together again. I can't wait to start a family of my own with him! I hope to become an excellent wife and mother through my experiences and working hard to do what my Heavenly Father and Savior ask of me.

Why I am a Mormon

It would be lying to say that being a Mormon is easy. I have been the only member of the Church in my school practically my whole life, aside from my brothers and sister. I'm almost the only member my age in the entire area. The world today is very dangerous and has many temptations. I know I have to constantly be stregthening my testimony to remain faithful. By staying diligent and reading my scriptures daily and engaging in prayer with my Heavenly Father, I can have the spirit with me. As I do these essential basics, I am blessed to have a witness from the Holy Ghost that confirms true principles of the gospel. I bear my testimony that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church upon the earth today. I believe that Joseph Smith saw the Father and His Son Jesus Christ because he prayed for answers. They showed him Their plan for him and I am so thankful for Joseph and his amazing faith and that he would to go forth as a servant in their hands and restore the gospel so we can gain eternal life. I am also thankful for living prophets on the earth today. I know they recieve revelation to help us stay on the path of righteousness and happiness. I love Jesus Christ, and am thankful for his love for me. He gave His life so that I could be forgiven of my sins. That is the greatest gift I could ever recieve.

How I live my faith

The awesome thing about being Mormon is all the fun stuff we do!! :) I love ward activities where we play games and just chat and get to know each other better. I also love how service based we are as a whole. We care about others and want to do everything we can to make those around us lives easier. I serve as a leader amoung the youth in my ward (particularly the young women ages 16-18), and I plan activities for us to do together and try to be an example of proper LDS living. I love how much I can be stregthened simply by being around other LDS members, and how easy it is for us to love each other. My favorite part about being a youth in the church is all of the activities that are planned just for us! Dances, firesides, camps and various conferences just so we can go and have a great time with each other. That´s all behind me now as I go to serve a mission. I will spend this next portion of my life sharing the gospel with all persons I come into contact with. This gospel makes me soo happy, and I love to share it with others :)
