Hi I'm Sylvia

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Utah but now I live in Colorado.

About Me

I am a mother of four children and have one grandson. I ran my first half marathon last year and like to keep active. I like to bike, hike, play volleyball and dance. I love a good movie.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the church has given me direction in my life. From my youth I learned that God loves me and knows who I am. Having this knowledge I feel a need to love and serve others. That is what life is about loving and helping others. I believe in Jesus Christ and I am grateful for his atoning sacrifice. It is through Him that we can live again. The scriptures and their teachings give me comfort and help me find answers to questions. I have so many questions about life and know I will never understand everything that happens to us here on earth. I know if I live my life the best I can, the Lord will help me understand what I need to, and I need to trust in Him for the rest. I believe when I pray, with real intent, the Lord hears me and will answer my prayers.

How I live my faith

I am involved in Cub Scouting and Girl's Camp. I enjoy working with the youth. It is rewarding to help them accomplish achievements or teach them something fun. When they do hard things it helps them realize their potential. Hard work is rewarding and they boost their confidence knowing they did it. Working with the youth keeps you young. Music plays an important role in our church as we worship, sing and dance.
