Hi I'm Sloan

I'm a convert, mom, wife, sales rep and I am Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in the south as a Presbyterian and went to a Baptist school. Dancing was my life! My last job dancing was in Las Vegas, Neveda. I met my husband at age 30 in Colorado, we married and 4 years later we had 2 children. I am currently a part time sales rep/merchandiser and full time wife and mother. I love excercising, decorating, and sharing my testimony of the restored gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

After 42 years of a wonderful life I saw no reason to change anything about the way I lived. I had grown up in the bible belt and went to church and even a Christian school. I was blessed with a wonderful husband, 2 boys and life was great! I was a good person and had a good heart. My husband felt we needed more in our lives. He had been working with Latter-Day Saints and knew there was something different about them. He wanted to experience the same joy and passion for life they all seemed to have. We met with the missionaries and 2 months later joined the Church and our lives have never been more blessed. I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I knew Heavenly Father would not leave us alone on the earth without a prophet to lead the way. I am a Mormon because I know Joseph Smith saw two personages, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ stood before him. I know he translated The Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ. I have seen and feel the power of the priesthood in my life and know the authority of the priesthood has been restored in this day. I only wish I had found the Church 42 years earlier! Quote from Pres. Hinckley "Many people are coming to our Church because we are a rock that doesn't waiver in the wind!"

How I live my faith

I currently oversee the welfare and spiritual growth of 125 women in our Church. I volunteer at a clothing boutique where women from halfway houses or correctional centers visit to get free clothing for job interviews. What a blessing it is to help them and the sisters in our Church. I read my scriptures or listen to words from our leaders in order to connect with my Heavenly Father daily. He gives me personal revelation that helps with my family and my calling in the Church. I love visiting the Temple, which brings me even closer to my Father in Heaven. I try to live each day in Gratefulness!
