Hi I'm Bjorg

I'm a Mormon. Actually, I belong to the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, otherwise known as the Mormons.

About Me

I am a mother and a grandmother. My husband and I have raised seven children and we are expecting our 25th and 26th grandchild. I was a stay at home mom and loved being a mother and a home maker. My interests have been family, gardening, knitting, reading, camping and traveling. My greatest joy has been in my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were searching for the Gospel of Jesus Christ when I was a child, growing up in Norway. I was only eight years old when this search took place. My parents and I were members of the Lutheran church. They loved to study the Bible, especially The New Testament. From this study they gained a concept of what Christ's Church was like when he walked on the earth. They spent years looking for a Church that was similar to the original church of Jesus Christ. One day a friend of my dad gave him a Book of Mormon. My dad read it and the Spirit witnessed to him that it was a true witness of Jesus Christ. The missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints started to come to our home and teach us about their church. We were baptized 6 months later. Even at my young age of nine at the time of our baptism, I knew that I did the right thing. I have been a faithful member ever since that time. I immigrated to USA when I was 21 years old. I wanted to go to Salt Lake City where the Church was strong so I could marry in the Salt Lake temple to a faithful member of my own faith. It has been a good life and I am forever grateful to those two missionaries who came to our home and introduced the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST to me and my parents. I still know that this is the Church of JESUS CHRIST and that this is the way for me and my family to be together forever.

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to follow Jesus Christ in everything I do. I have served in the community food bank, I have helped in my children's elementary school, I have served in teaching and serving positions in my church. My husband and I have served two missions for our church, one as records preservation missionaries where we went to eight different counties filming public records at their court houses. These films were sent to the Genealogical Society of Utah, who in return gave a copy of these films to the state we worked in. This mission lasted for 18 months and we payed all our own expenses. We have also served a mission office mission to a foreign country taking care of financial and the regular office work it takes to run a mission. We worked in close contact with the mission president and the young missionaries and it was a very rewarding experience. Now we are serving at the Bishops' Store House in our area helping fill many peoples' need for help with groceries.
