Hi I'm Ralph L. Hogge

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in California, and have lived in Alaska for the past 27 years.

About Me

I met my wife at Brigham Young University, where I graduated in Civil Engineering. We married after I served a Spanish-speaking mission in California. We have six children, five of which we raised and they now have families of their own. We have 14 grandchildren, all of which we dearly love. We recently returned from a senior couple mission in Florida. We enjoy fishing, hiking, travel and being close to nature.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a deep and abiding testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I obtained that testimony through study of the Book of Mormon and other scriptures and through prayer. Our lives are centered around the church and its members, including our own family. We enjoy being of service to others and being with people of diverse backgrounds. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, the Son of the Living God. I know that He appeared with His father to the prophet Joseph Smith in 1820. During subsequent years the prophet Joseph was an instrument in the Lord's hands in restoring the same church that Christ established 2000 years ago with 12 apostles, prophets, and other church leaders. I know that we have a prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson who is the Lord's mouthpiece as was Moses, Abraham, Noah and other prophets of the Bible.

How I live my faith

I believe that we must live our standards every day, not just on Sunday. These standards include chastity, kindness, humility, and love of all of God's creations. We attend our Sabath services each Sunday, attend the Temple regularly, pay our tithing, and try of live as the Lord Jesus Christ taught us. We consider it a blessing to do these things, not a burden. We are happy to tell others of our joy and happiness.
