Hi I'm Colten F.

I grew up in Utah. I fly Helicopters for a living and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi I am Colten. I grew up in Salt Lake City Utah. I was first introduced to the Mormon church at the age of 8 when Mormon Missionaries taught my sister. When I was 19 I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) in the North Carolina Charlotte Mission. My mission changed me and helped me create the habits I have today; I would not be who I am with out that experience. After Returning home from my Mission I met my beautiful wife Kaylee on an LDS online dating site and we got married about a year later in the Logan Utah Temple. I love cars and anything with an engine. I started flying Helicopters right out of High School and returned to flight school after my mission. My wife and I moved to Florida for a Helicopter job and have been here ever since. I have flown tours over Orlando, St. Augustine, Daytona, and many other places. I currently fly for a tour company in Miami. I love Christian Rock and am very open about who I am and what I believe. I am proud to be a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

The answer to the question why I am a Mormon is simple but complex. I was taught by the Mormon Missionaries as a youth; I accepted the Gospel and was baptized at the age of 8. Throughout my experience in the church my testimony of the truthfulness and divinity of this church has grown. I went on my mission having various spiritual experiences that lead me to believe God is real and that this is his church. However, over time as I have come to understand the scriptures better and test the gospel message I have come to an assurance that this truly is his church restored in the latter days. I know that God is real, that he loves his children, and that he speaks to us through Prophets. I am a Mormon because I know that Heavenly Father (God) spoke through living prophets anciently and that he does so now. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore the church as he did many times anciently. Heavenly Father loves his children and as we continue to prep for the Second Coming of his Son Jesus Christ he will direct us and help us prepare for that day. Not only does this all make sense to me but I know it through spiritual impressions that it is true. I have tested the word and know it to be true. Alma 32:28 and 33: "28 Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me." "33 And now, behold, because ye have tried the experiment, and planted the seed, and it swelleth and sprouteth, and beginneth to grow, ye must needs know that the seed is good."

How I live my faith

I live my faith through example. Being a Pilot is not always easy as a Mormon. I strive to be open about my beliefs and why I do or do not participate in various things. I strive to live the teachings of Jesus Christ and be an example of him. We are a peculiar people and I in brace it. I love being a Mormon! "...be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
