Hi I'm Eric

I'm a Mormon. I grew up on a farm in Montana and became an accountant. I still love horses.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of four children. I love playing golf, riding my bicycle, backpacking and camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace that comes from the teaching that I am a child of God and a witness by the Holy Ghost that my Heavenly Father loves me. One principle that demonstrates my Heavenly Father's love for me is his great Plan of Happiness. This plan teaches me about my existence before I came to earth, why I am here, and what happens after I die. Heavenly Father's love for me is further demonstrated by his sending his son Jesus Christ to earth to take upon himself my sins if I repent and am obedient to the laws and ordinances of the gospel and providing the way that I can be resurrected because of Christ's resurrection. The first laws and ordinances are faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins, and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. Another principle that demonstrates Heavenly Father’s love for me is having apostles and prophets just as in ancient days. Prophets are directed by Jesus Christ and give us counsel to help us during our current times. Having prophets demonstrate that Heavenly Father loves me just as much as he did his ancient people who had prophets as well. I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that he took upon himself my sins and made it possible for me to be resurrected. I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Jesus Christ restored his gospel to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. How do I know? I know by asking Heavenly Father through prayer to know if these things are true. You can know in the same manner by asking Heavenly Father if these things are true.

How I live my faith

I serve by being a leader and teacher of youth and youth leaders. I am an active member of the local Boy Scouts of America district committee. As part of the committee, I have led our district winter campout known as “The Klondike”. As a leader of youth, I was part of a three stake committee that organized and directed a youth conference attended by 200 youth. Additionally, I visit 2-3 families every month to determine how they are doing temporally and spiritually.
