Hi I'm Serene

I am a stay at home mom for my sweet baby girl and a wife to my best friend and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town of about five hundred people. There was no stop lights or sidewalks, just one long main street that ran straight through town and I loved it. I was raised on a farm with lots of fields and places to run around. My siblings became my best friends and we made lots of memories together. After high school I attended Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho where I would receive my Bachelors degree in Photography. I met and married my best friend there and two years later we became parents to our baby girl. We can't believe how much joy she continues to bring into our lives and we feel blessed to be her parents. My husband is now getting ready to start his second year of Dental School. We are excited to see what this life will bring next!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the feelings I get that tell me it is true. I treasure the times in my life when I have been able to be comforted by the words in the Book of Mormon and through prayer. I'm grateful for the stirring inside me that takes place that confirms once again to me that this church is true. I know that Heavenly Father is aware of each of us. I know he desires each of us to come unto him.

How I live my faith

I love to serve. A few years ago my husband and I were able to volunteer as coaches for a Special Olympics organization. There is nothing quite like knowing that you have helped someone for the better. Recently, I just got called to work with the children in my area for my church. In this calling I get to organize lessons for the children on Sundays. I make sure that each of the different age groups have teachers every week and that they are learning about Jesus. I love seeing how excited they are to come to church. I know I'm not perfect and there are several things in my life that I want to change to make myself better. I'm so grateful for this gospel that has guidelines for me to follow that we help me be the person I want to be someday.
