Hi I'm April

I'm a Mormon. I was in my late 30's when I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints with my husband and daughters.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for over 30 years and we have two beautiful daughters. I am also a grandmother to four loving boys. I enjoy any time I can spend with my family. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday so every year we spend a week in the Ozarks as a family. I also work full time as a service manager and manage seventeen technicians all across Nebraska. I love being out in the field with the technicians and talking to our customers.

Why I am a Mormon

My husband and I were going through a rough time and were looking for a way to keep our family together. We knew a family that was Mormon and I thought maybe "their" church might have the answer. My husband told me to research it on the internet. I read talks given by the church authorities and then ordered a Book of Mormon. After reading the Book of Mormon, sometimes out loud to my husband, we went on line to request the missionaries. They never came. I asked my friend if the missionaries were busy because they never got back to us. She assured me they would love to talk to us and she helped us set up our first appointment. Before the missionaries came my husband told me that we would not commit to anything but talk about it after the missionaries left. After the discussion, the missionaries asked us if we would like to be baptized. Just as I was about to politely say that we would think about it my husband said, “Yes.” My husband said yes that night because we could feel the spirit. We knew that first discussion that this was what we had been looking for. We knew what they had told us was true. We were baptized one month later.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Winter Quarters Temple every Saturday morning. It is the highlight of my week and sets the tone for the following week. I pray often. My husband and I say our family prayer ever morning, we pray at every meal, I say my personnel prayer, and I pray all through the day as needed.
