Hi I'm Justin

My mom is Catholic, my dad is Jewish, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my best friend five years ago. I work in local government in Northeast Texas. I am the second of three children. I have an older brother who passed away in a tragic car accident in 2010 and a younger sister. I grew up in a loving home where I was taught love and respect towards all walks of life. My mom is Catholic and my dad is Jewish – so I guess you could say we were lucky kids; we got to celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas! With such different views on religion, my parents decided to raise us to believe in a loving God and they allowed us to choose our own path. I am grateful to them for their faith and continual support.

Why I am a Mormon

Twelve years ago, a close friend invited me to an LDS youth conference. As I listened to the testimonies of my peers about their belief in the Savior and His plan of salvation, I felt a stirring in my chest. I had never felt the Spirit so strongly before. I described how I felt to my friend as I listened to the testimonies and immediately she recognized that I had felt the Spirit testify to me that the testimonies were true. Shortly after I was invited to listen to the missionaries. The same Spirit touched my heart again as they testified of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I offered another prayer, alone, to find out if this was the path God intended me to take. And for the third time, I felt a warm, heaven-sent confirmation, that what I heard was true, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is literally the restored church of Jesus Christ. I followed the teaching of the Savior and was baptized. My life has been immensely blessed ever since. I am genuinely happy. I feel the Savior's love in my life. His gospel makes me a better husband and friend. I know that Jesus lives and that He has restored His truth.

How I live my faith

Currently, I serve as a Sunday School teacher in my local congregation. This allows me the opportunity to develop leadership skills and Christ-like attributes as I seek to teach church members about self-reliance and principles of being a good steward. A church leader once said, "No other success can compensate for failure in the home." I strive to live my faith both in private and in public -- I want to be the best husband possible for my sweet wife and a nurturing father to my future children. We study the teachings of Christ as a couple and individually. I am grateful for the opportunity to follow the Savior each day.
