Hi I'm Elissa

I am an elementary school teacher, a mother of 6 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of six children ranging from age 18 to 4. I also work outside the home as a school teacher. I love children and learning. I love my kids. They keep me busy running all over. They help me to be a better person every day. I enjoy music. I play the piano and sing. I am currently learning to play the organ. I also love to create things. I am always looking for something new to try. I get a sense of accomplishment when I learn something new or complete a project I have never tried before. After I have learned something and feel succesful I really enjoy sharing with others how to do the things I have learned.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father in my life. I have had some experiences that have helped me to understand and know how much I am cared for. My husband contracted a disease called Guillone Barre Syndrome. This caused him to go from being able to work and do every day things one day to being unable to stand and balance the next. I had no idea if he would survive or if I would be a widow. I had just had a baby a month before this. We did not know what was going on. doctors did not know what was going on. My husband had to go through many tests to eliminate all the things that it could be. This was a time when I needed to know that everything would be OK. So many people from my ward reached out and provided for me the love that I needed. I felt in so many large and small ways that My Heavenly Father knew what I was going through. He sent people and things to help me during that time that I didn't even know I needed. As I go through out my life and other struggles come my way. I KNOW that I will get the help I need and that I will learn and grow through these experiences. I truly believe Jesus Christ did feel all of the pain that I feel physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Heavenly Father sent him to help me through life so that I can live with joy and love all around me. I try to help others in the way so many helped me.

How I live my faith

I am fortunate enough to teach every day. I try to lift others each day with my good attitude and love for them. I love to help the elderly, the new mothers and young children. I try to go throughout life with a smile to share with someone else. I have the opportunity at the moment to work with the women in our ward. This is a challenge because I have always worked with the youth and children.I love to meet each sister and get to know them. I love to give them the time I have and just listen to them. I love how the church gives us challenges that help us to become better people.
