Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a Mormon. I am a nanny and a referee. I am currently a nursing student and love all kinds of sports. I love the outdoors too!

About Me

I am an older sister and a college nursing student. I work as a part-time referee to get through school. I have many hobbies and interests but sports are at the top of my list! I enjoy playing all sports but especially volleyball, basketball, tennis, and soccer. I also enjoy watching professional sports as well; I am a Nuggets basketball fan and a Broncos football fan! I also enjoy hiking, wake boarding, running, and really anything that is outdoors. I also love to paint, scrapbook, and make crafts. I love hanging out with my friends as well and having fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found out for myself that the Book of Mormon is true. In High School, I was the only Mormon on all of my sports teams. I was the one of the only girls who didn't drink or use rough language. A lot of my friends would go drink on the weekends and I would always turn the invitations to go with them down. It was not easy being different from everyone else on my team. One day, I went home after a rough volleyball practice and decided that if I was going to continue living the standards I was taught and continue being a Mormon, then I needed to know for myself that it was true. I started reading the Book of Mormon everyday in a quiet place where I could sit and ponder the things that I read. I couldn't put the book the down! I would get on my knees everytime after I read, and prayed to Heavenly Father sincerely wanting to know if what I was reading was true. Over and over again, I felt a warm feeling of peace and love confirming that it was indeed true! I know that the Book of Mormon is true with all of my heart. I know that by following the guidance and counsel given in the Book of Mormon, we will be happier and closer to our Savior. Being a Mormon has blessed my life with understanding and knowledge that helps me understand my purpose and God's plan for me. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I am very involved in my ward that I attend at college. My calling is to create activities and events that will get everyone together to have fun. Some events I have helped plan are an ice-skating night, Halloween party, and a study party during finals week! I also participate in service the church organizes such as working in a soup kitchen, visiting elderly in a nursing home, and getting involved in food drives. I also serve in my community by volunteering at hospitals, races, and other organizations in need of help. I also do volunteer work for The American Red Cross Foundation.
