Hi I'm Matthew

I have been blessed with two beautiful daughters. I love my family, Heavenly Father and Savior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love nothing more than spending time with my family and watching my two daughters play. I enjoy raising my children to uphold good morals and standards. I feel so honored that my girls chose me. I'm so grateful knowing that I can be with my family forever. I spent most of my childhood and teen-aged years playing sports, boating and camping. I am passionate about water skiing, snow skiing, and enjoy watching the occasional Oakland A's game. I work as an inpatient occupational therapist in hospital and rehab settings. My passion is working with patients who survived a neurological event such as stroke. I feel so blessed to work hands on with people through the challenges of re-learning how to live with physical and cognitive disabilities. I facilitate a monthly Stroke Survivor group, to educate and bring people together to cope and find strength after a life changing event.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to the church when I was a youth, and since I've experienced many obstacles and challenges that have taught me to rely on my faith and the love of my Heavenly Father to help me endure through difficult times. I also have experienced the most precious blessing in my life. Raising children has been the most wonderful gift I've been given in this life. My children continually help me become a better man and father and the teach me not to take life for granted. My extended family and friends both LDS and non-LDS have always been loving and supportive throughout my life.

How I live my faith

My family and I attend church every Sunday. Sunday is truly the most important day of the week for me. I find myself longing to feel the spiritual uplift and fulfillment of worshiping Heavenly Father. Our Savior, Jesus Christ is the only true example of perfection and though I stumble and fall often, I know that through His Atonement and by asking for forgiveness, His grace allows me to grow and learn how to be a better, stronger man and father. Prayer is a crucial principle that I have grown to love and it has helped me grow closer to our Heavenly Father and Savior. I have felt His love and warm embrace lift me and inspire me to share with others. I find joy in serving others. I've learned that "One sure cure for worry is to serve someone else." Service is my way of showing others that I love and care for them, just as our Heavenly Father does each of us. We are His children, he knows us individually, by name. He knows our joys and sorrows. He wants each of us to be happy. I follow our Savior's example, the teachings in the scriptures and the leaders of our church so that I can truly enjoy the happiness that is promised to each of us.
