Hi I'm Sean Fleming

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Sean, I have been married for 6 years and have 2 beautiful children. I have a degree in business management and have worked in my current management position for 3 years. I love sports and love to play them as well as watch them. I am extremely active and love to do anything that involves exercise. I also lave junk food which is probably why I work out. I'm still deciding what I want to do with my life and how I can take my passions in life and develop them into a career. Sometimes I can remain stagnant when life seems to be going well, even though I know there is much more that can be done. It's a good thing I have a wife that pushes me to do the best I can. I love being a father and spend as much time as I can with my kids. They're my pride and joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know of a surety that this is the true church that Christ has restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I grew up a Mormon but didn't gain a true testimony or understanding until the age 14. I asked my mom 1 time "What if the prophet said this church wasn't true? What would you do?" Her reply startled me as she said "That would never happen. The Lord will never let His servants lead His people away". The answer interested me because I thought she would say something like, we would stop going, but that never came into her mind. She didn't believe in just a person but her testimony was of the Book of Mormon and of Jesus Christ, and she knew them to be real and true. This is when I decided to find out for myself. I had read the Book of Mormon before but I decided to read it again and to ask my Heavenly Father if it was true. I knew that if the Book of Mormon was true then everything else had to be true that followed it. I wanted a really cool answer like a visit form an angel or a deep burning sensation in my heart that I read had happened to people. As I prayed to find out if the Book of Mormon was true and if this was God's true church, the answer I got was not a vision or an angel or a burning sensation but a thought that hit me hard. The response I got was that I already knew the Book of Mormon and the Church was true and why was I looking for something greater. I knew then what my mom knew, and there was nothing that could shake my testimony of Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and of the gospel of Christ. From that experience I have received many other experiences that have fortified my testimony. Through prayer and studying and doing, my faith has grown and will continue to grow as I continue to do what the Lord wants me to do. My faith in Jesus Christ and of His church is not a 1 time experience when I was 14 but continually is reaffirmed to me through the experiences in my life.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ so much because it is a gospel of doing, not just hearing. I live my faith through my actions each and everyday. I read my scriptures (Book of Mormon/Bible) daily and try to learn what I can do better from it. I say my prayers morning and night and any other time I need or want to. I go to church every Sunday and do whatever the church asks of me. Some things they ask of me is to visit people and see how they're doing, teach other members lessons in church, clean the church from time to time which I do gladly. I am asked to do service such as help people move, sit and watch items for donations, help the needy and many other things. What I love about this church is that everything is voluntary and sorry for sounding redundant, no one gets paid for the things they do. Living my faith is to be the best person I can be. This means that I strive to be the best husband, father, son, brother, friend, employee... Living my faith is to try to get people to see something different in me so if they want, they can also have the same happiness that I feel knowing what my Heavenly Father wants of me and how I can return to live with him again. Knowing the purpose of this life has helped me have a clear direction of what I need to do to obtain happiness. I'm not talking about jobs, money or things like that, but a clear knowledge of what I can do to live with my family again.
