Hi I'm Peter

I'm a husband, a grad student, a political junkie, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in Washington. I had the opportunity to participate in the state's Running Start program, a program that allows highschoolers to take college classes while still in high school. Thanks to this program, I was able to graduate high school with almost two years of my bachelors degree already completed. After spending another year of schooling at BYU-Hawaii, I served a mission in Japan before returning to the U.S., marrying my wife, and graduating cum laude in Political Science. I'm currently pursuing a Masters of Public Administration at the Marriott School of Management, and hope to soon be working in either state or federal government. My goal is to help improve the quality of life for as many people as possible by whatever means possible. I love to read, write, act, cook, run, and watch movies with my wife. I think Legos are pretty much the best toy ever invented.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it's provided me a lifestyle that has allowed me to build strong relationships with God and my family. I am motivated by my faith to help others, show love and civility to all people, and to be my very best self. While neither I nor any other Christian can perfectly exemplify all of the attributes we profess to believe in, I believe the LDS church provides the best environment to develop those attributes.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping other people, giving my best at school, home, and work, and by learning through trial and error.

What is faith?

Peter
Faith is trust in God. It's trust that He'll follow through with the blessings He's promised if you work hard and do what you're supposed to. It's much like a child who trusts his parents and is obedient to them even when he doesn't know why sometimes; he knows that his parents care and that they will always do what's best for him.
