Hi I'm Bill

I was raised in Indiana loving anything fast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Noblesville, Indiana just after WWII ended. We lived the life of sharecropers and did a lot of moving in and around Hamilton County, Indiana. Life was great for a young boy who loved to fish and run barefooted with the cows. We finally settled in the small town of Atlanta (752) where I stayed until entering the US Air Force in 1966. I was the second of four boys (poor mom). I graduated from Jackson Central High School in 1964. While in the military I was stationed in many US States and countries in Europe and the Pacific Area. I married young and my military activity took its toll, but not before we had a beautiful daughter. I stayed in the Air Force for 21 years and retired in 1987. Militay life didn't stop with retirement as I contracted back to the Air Force to work on their RF-4C's. That was good for five years until Bergstrom AFB became Austin/Bergstrom International Airport. Then came communications work for the Natural Gas Pipeline. Grounded. That's where I am today. I have 3 beautiful daughters and a son the girls call a hunk. They're topped by a wife that amazes me everyday with her beauty and the fact that she picked me. I love my country and will defend it with my life because I know it was inspired of God.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, my family were members of the Atlanta Christian Church. My Grandfather was a Methodist Minister, but he died when I was very young. I was baptised at 8 and knew that Jesus loved me enough to do something amazing. But I was always confused that the world had so many different ways to teach his wisdom. So I grew up believing that Jesus died for me and the rest didn't matter. It took me many years and a lot of patient family and friends to understand the "rest of the story". Growing up, I didn't even know what a "Mormon" was. While in the Air Force I was stationed with my future brother-in-law. He became my best friend. I was amazed at how close knit and loving his family was. I got to know his and Julie's(wife) familys. They both had that special something that kept me coming back to visit them...hoping it would rub off.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by Loving my Family, Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I try hard to serve anyone I can. I try to be the best example to my kids that I can be. I study the Scriptures, serve His church and anxiously wait for the next person who shows interest in the Gospel so we can have a very special discussion.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we respect and reverance him because he was chosen of God to be the prophet that opened this, the last dispensation. We worship our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
