Hi I'm Matt Swope

I grew up with the third of five brothers and one sister. I am business owner and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad and am married to a wonderful daughter of God. We have two children an boy and a girl. We are so blessed to have one of each and health children of God. I owe a business and someday hope to own more. I enjoy camping with my family and visiting my uncle's ranch to help with branding time. This allow me to escape from my business as there is no cell phone reception out there. I enjoy the time with extended family and also working hard to make all the calves and cows are well. I like serving others and find it oddly enjoyable, although I may not want to all the time and I know as I serve others I am serving my Heavenly Father. I love playing sports with friends and family enjoy the friendly competition.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon? It is a good question because it is hard to be one. There are many rules and commandments some of my friends find it different or say that this is too hard. I am a Mormon because found out for myself, by the power of prayer that the LDS church is the true church. Yes I was raised a Mormon, but there once came a time that I didn't want to rely on my parents and my church leader's testimony saying that this is the true church. I have felt the Holy Ghost many times inf my life testifying of basic gospel principles like faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in prayer and that one can pray to God and get answers. However I never knelt down and asked if the LDS church was the only true church. An overwhelming peace and joy that I had never felt before came over me and I knew that that was a answer to my pray. I was excited because I found out for myself and that no longer had to rely on my parents or what my church leaders had said all my life. The answer to my prayer just confirmed what I had been taught my how life was true. I am grateful for that knowledge that I gain that day and now I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and the the Book of Mormon is true. I also know that we are lead by a prophet of God and that he answers to Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that He lives.

How I live my faith

Most of the years that I have been married and I have been with the youth of the church and have taught them, played games, and have had spiritual experiences. I love the youth and enjoy being in their company and find it a blessing to serve the youth. I also live my faith by obeying commandments like paying tithing and obeying the Word of Wisdom, which this allows me to have a clean physical body or to refrain drinking alcohol, using tobacco, and harmful drugs. I got to church often and study the Bible, Book of Mormon and other scriptures to increase my knowledge and testimony of the mission of Jesus Christ. Doing this help me feel close to the Savior.
