Hi I'm Brenda

I'm a wife, a mother and I'm involved in my community and I love my country. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love living in the beautiful state of Georgia. During my adult life, I've lived all around the country and while there are many beautiful places, Georgia is tops for me. I love to watch the deer eat my grass and hear the falcons call to each other as they fly overhead. Nature is a wonderful thing. As someone who studied Accounting in college, I worked with numbers and finances throughout my career. I had professional success and enjoyed being able to support my family and use my skills and talents regularly. When it was time to have a family, however, I put the career on hold to take on a much harder job -- motherhood. Being a mother is rewarding, challenging, stressful and the best thing I will ever do in my life. It is amazing to watch my children grow up and mimic the silly habits I have like singing funny songs all the time and changing the words to fit a given situation and have a slight obsession with chocolate and sweets. It is in the home that children first learn to love others, to share and to understand who they are as children of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've prayed to know if this is the true church of God and I have received confirmation through the Holy Spirit telling me this is true. Prayer is such a vital part of my life and I know that when I pray, my Father in Heaven hears my prayers. I think some people, myself included, would like an angelic manifestation telling them what to do or whom to marry or what job to take. More often than not, however, we need to study a decision out in our mind, pray for guidance, and move forward in faith. It is then, after the decision has been made, that I have often received the confirmation that the choice I made was correct. I know that Jesus Christ died for each and every one of us and that he rose again on the third day. His resurrection made it possible for me to live again with Him and Heavenly Father after I leave this mortal existence.

How I live my faith

My beliefs aren't just a "practice once a week on Sunday" kind of thing. It permeates throughout my whole life. It makes me want to be a better wife and mother. It makes me not want to get mad at someone when they cut me off while driving. It makes me be willing to help others when I'm asked to and when I just know that someone could use a friend to talk to or a hug.
