Hi I'm Misty

I love to write. I love to watch sports. I love to crochet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a reader, writer and creator. I love to crochet and can often be found crocheting during church (shhh! It's the best time to work on things.) I am currently a college student that also works. I love listening to music. I love trying to sing. I acted in high school and was in choir. I researched the Church for years before I actually joined. I am a convert to the Church. I was baptized in 2004.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a sophomore in high school I first researched the Church. I had a Mormon friend that I was asking questions too. But I said I would "never" join the Church. I would have to consider myself to be a little like Alma the younger. In 2003 I started to work with my a different friend of mine whose family are members of the Church. I was writing something that caused me to research the Church again. This time I was able to ask my friend's family questions I had from the books I was reading for research. I was also given my first copy of The Book of Mormon around this time. (I had tried to read The Book of Mormon with my previous LDS research. I was not even able to get past the introduction.) As I asked questions, I was invited to go to church. I went starting in 2003. It was through my job in 2003 that allowed me to go to a dentist who was a member of the Church. Then this dentist passed away. When I received news of the dentist's passing, I was able to open the Book of Mormon and start reading. I felt like everything was being opened up to me. So I took the missionary discussions and joined the Church. For having said I would "never" join the church, when I made that decision to join I knew it was the right thing to do. I joined because I know that being a Latter-day Saint is being a member of the true church.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow the commandments. I go to church as often as I can. I participate while in church (even when I am crocheting) so I can learn from my fellow members. I go to family home evening when possible. I read the scriptures everyday and I pray everyday too.
