Hi I'm Jim

I have lived in northern Utah all of my life. I am grateful to be a Mormon and to know Jesus Christ is my Savior.

About Me

I am a father of 6 children. 2 boys and 4 girls. I work as a process engineer for an automotive supply company where we make safety products for cars. I have always liked to figure out how things work and fix things. I have grown up as an auto mechanic, welder and a machinist. I went back to school later in life because of other opportunities that pulled me away from school earlier. They were good opportunities and I do not regret the experience I gained. I was very grateful for the chance to go back to school and get the engineering degree I always wanted. I now have a very successful career. I also like doing things with my brothers and family. I have helped my brothers several times do re-enactments. In some of the re-enactments I have been a Preacher, Father of a bride, pale bearer, gold panner or what ever might be needed. Doing things with family is very important and very fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon and I am grateful for that. I have often wondered if I would have listened to the missionaries. As I have went through life and experienced many ups and downs, that are normal to life, I have been oh so grateful that I have a firm founded belief in the Savior Jesus Christ. Knowing that he loves me and has paid the price for me so that I can recover from sin and the mistakes I have made gives me hope. Heavenly Father Loves each of us. Because of that love he sent his son Jesus Christ to earth to live, suffer, die and then be resurrected. Because of this we all, each one of us, can live again and have the opportunity to be with our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God. Never forget that we are love by God.

How I live my faith

I have found that one of the best ways to make a difference today is to live Gods teachings. I am not perfect by any means, but by trying to do what is right I can make a difference. I have spent many years as a scout leader and had the great opportunity to share what I have leaned with young men in hopes that they can be better than me and learn and understand the importance of God in our lives. I currently work as the ward mission leader and have the great opportunity to work with the full time missionaries to share the gospel with others. I know god lives and hope that others can see that by seeing how I live.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Jim
When asked about the authority to preform baptism and other ordinances I like to use the example of the Saviors baptism to show the importance of authority. When it was time for the Savior to be baptized he did not go to just any religious leader. He sought our John the Baptist. Why because he was called of God and had the authority to preform this sacred ordinance. We also have the opportunity to do the same. Because the priesthood authority has been restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith we can be baptized by one who has authority from Jesus Christ. I had the wonderful opportunity to baptize my six children when they reached eight years old. If asked where my authority came from I can show a direct line of authority back to Joseph Smith then Peter, James and John who received authority from Jesus Christ. It is such a great blessing to have Gods priesthood authority on the earth today. I thank god for it daily. Show more Show less
