Hi I'm Troy

I grew up in the Midwest and an self employed, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the Church as a teenager, after my brother was baptized after meeting some freinds who were Mormon. My brother was shocked to find out that our parents were also members but fell in-active after my oldest brother was killed in an accident as an 8 yr old. Now my parents and brother and I are active in the Church, and it has changed our lives. I am a huge Sports fan and love to take my two daughters to visit various locations around Nebraska to teach them about our area, and what people before us have done for us. I am self employed and run my own business.

Why I am a Mormon

My brother and parents were active in the church for a year and half before I felt I needed to see what was making my family travel 60 miles to church each Sunday. At the time we had a missionary couple who were in our area, I felt a strong bond to them and they asked if they could come and teach me more about the church. I was very interested in History and had learned about the people who were in Mexico and South America at the time of Christ. I felt the spirit when the missionaries were teaching about the origins of the Book of Mormon. I rememeber the discussion about the Savior coming to the people of the book of Mormon after his death. They asked me to read in the book of Mormon about the visit of Christ and see if I could draw a line to history. Then they asked me to pray and ask if the Book of Mormon was true. In the book of James in the Bible it speaks that if anyone lacks wisdon ask of god, and he will reveil to that person what the truth is. I am a Mormon because of the answer that I recieved after reading the account of Christs visit to the America's. I did as James suggested and asked of God and he aswered my prayer. He will answer you too, but you have to ask- do you think its important to know if Christs church is on the earth?

How I live my faith

One of the greatest aspects to the Church is the importance of families, the church has a support system in each area to insure that the members are all loved as Christ loves all of us. Just as a shepard watches over his sheep the Savior asks it members to watch over each other, through meetings and systems like members being assigned to a few members and reporting back to the Bishop if help is needed. Christ taught the two great commandments are to love god and your neighbor. The church is one of the greatest examples of service and welfare in the world.
