Hi I'm Hillary

I'm a stay-at-home mom. I'm a redhead. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and a stay-at-home mom. I have two rambunctious and fun-loving boys. I graduated with a degree in Exercise Science: Fitness and Wellness. I love being healthy and learning all I can about the subject. I love playing the piano, crocheting, playing board games, and working on family history. Someday I want to grow a huge flower garden and play the harp.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been a part of my life since birth. However, I still had to come to know this church was true for myself. As a a youth, I remember reading and re-reading the Book of Mormon. Then I knelt and prayed many times, following the prophet Moroni's challenge at the end of the Book of Mormon, "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true." One day, while pondering on the subject again, a warm feeling enveloped me from head to toe and I felt the peace that only the Holy Ghost can bring. I knew the Book of Mormon is true. And if the Book of Mormon is true, that means that Joseph Smith is a prophet, and therefore was able to restore Jesus Christ's true church to the earth once again. As I live the principles of this gospel, I feel at peace with myself, those around me, and most importantly, with God. I also gain a greater testimony, for as Jesus said, "If any man will do his will, he will know the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is of God. Christ leads this church.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ affects every aspect of my life, from what I choose wear, what I choose eat, how I treat my family, and what I choose to do with my free time. I am a better person because I am guided by the Lord throughout my life. My most important relationships are made clear. I strive to keep a strong, happy marriage and teach my children the truth just as I have learned it. We read scriptures and pray daily as a family. We also hold a weekly family night where we specifically set aside time to teach our children about Jesus Christ's teachings. I also play the organ in church, helping to bring the Spirit of the Lord to our meetings. I also visit several women in the area regularly to make sure all is going well in their homes. I also teach the 16-18 year old young women in our church principles of the gospel such as faith, repentance, and service to others. In serving others around me, I feel I am in some small way returning thanks to my Heavenly Father and showing my love for the being whom has given me all I have.
