Hi I'm Tyler Marrott

I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I love to go rock climbing, play basketball and volleyball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying business management at BYU-Idaho. My passion really came to light in high school when I was taking marketing classes and joined the DECA Club. It was a lot of work, but definitely something I enjoyed doing. One day I hope to start my own business whether that's in entertainment or media. When time permits I love to cook and sing. I really owe my ability to cook and do it well to my parents. I would have been stuck making just pancakes and waffles if it wasn't for them. There's just something different to being able to make something with your hands and really see the results of how it turned out. It's even better when I get to share that food with others and they love it. I love my family. We get along really well now. In years past it was off and on, but that has changed with age, maturity, and lots of forgiveness for things. Jokes, humor, and games are how we just really come together and love life. Sundays are usually a great day for everyone to talk since everyone has moved around a bit.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that actively lived the LDS faith. Life was a lot of fun and overall great going to church. I had lots of friends there while I was growing up that lived good values. As time went on and I became more mature I kept going because of how I felt there. There was a peaceful and comforting feeling when I was there and lived a Christ-like life. In times of struggle I would read the scriptures or talks by apostles. Their messages of the Gospel and Jesus Christ helped me to become someone even better. I'd find myself wanting to read the scriptures, pray, and serve others out of my own desire and not an order. The greatest gift of all that I can think of that God has given is the knowledge that He lives, He loves us, and wants us to live with Him again. Not only that but to live with Him and our families. I know this is true, because of the witness of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

Everyday I get up and pray, thanking God for all He has done for me and ask Him for help with my day. My thoughts turn to God pretty frequently throughout the day. Whether it's at work with trying to figure out solutions to problems, understanding what I'm studying, or helping those around me God knows so much more than I do. I rely on His direction to help me find the truth. The only way that life really gets easier I've found is when I'm serving others. Christ set the example for us. His whole life was dedicated to serving those around Him. You can't help but feel happy when you know you've helped someone and made their day a little bit easier. Every week I go to church, and it's not just because God wants me to. I go because I want to feel His love and hear more. Church isn't just about you, it's about supporting those around you in following Christ. I love being able to hear the testimony of others and share mine. It strengthens me and others as well.
