Hi I'm Joey

I`m a Japanese halfsy but don`t look it. I love to ski during the winters and golf during the summers. I`m a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 7 being the middle child and grew up in Colorado. I grew up doing a lot of different things including piano, baseball, golf, and anything else that looked fun at the time. I love to try new things and work at it. I even tried to pole vault one year in high school but it was an utter failure so it ended pretty quick. My Dads American and my Moms Japanese so I had an interesting childhood eventually leading me to Japan, Nagoya which is where I am now, spreading the happiness the gospel has brought me during my life. I just turned 21 years old and am loving life more than ever right now. I`m also pretty excited to get back to BYU next year and start classes up again.

Why I am a Mormon

I`m mormon because I`m extremely weak and the gospel makes me stronger. I feel like I`ve been personally guided and helped too many times in my life to ignore. It`s been interesting because I don`t feel like I really did anything to deserve the blessings I`ve been given nor have I really done anything to see the miracles I`ve seen. I'm a Mormon because I've been given so much that I cannot comprehend, and if all my Father in Heaven wants in return is for me to live my life in this manner, I'm more than happy to do it. Plus.....It`s true.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by giving my best in everything the Lord expects of me. The gospel isn`t something that restricts you in anyway nor does it limit possiblities within your life. It`s something that sets you free and limitless if you let it. The gospel is perfect in everyway and it is there to help us but the only way it can is if we make the inner commitment needed to allow it. We are expected to love others, serve others, and follow Jesus Christ by keeping his commandments but it can only benefit us if we do it whole-heartedly and with the desire to do it. So all in all, I live my faith by following Christ doing the best I can to do everything he expects of me, not becoming a robot, nor becoming a slacker. The Gospel is here to make us happy, so follow the teachings but enjoy life while doing it :). It`s that balance that will change your life.
