Hi I'm Clara-Ellen

I was born in the United States of America and have lived in seven different states. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a daughter, sister, wife, mom, and a grandma! As I grew up, my family moved around alot with my dad's job. Then I married a military man and moved several more times. My husband is now retired from the military and we are now settle in one place for the last 20 years. I was a retail store manager for eight years. About five years ago I had a major job change. My store closed and found myself with the unemployed. I was able to secure a job as a credit card collector with a major credit card company. This is not a job most people would choose, but I feel I can assist many who struggle with debt learn about credit and try to help ease stress and set plans to work towards. Currently, all my children live in my same area and also five of my seven grandchildren. My greatest joys are my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents became active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was about four years old, so I grew up knowing Gospel principles. The standards and committments to being a member of the Church has always felt "right" and comfortable to me. This was good, because I grew up in areas where the Church was not very large in numbers, so I had to make a choice of either full committment or not really being a true member. There were only seven members of the Church in my high school of almost 2000, so I really stood out as being different. As I faced challenges from my peers, I took the challenge outlined in "The Book of Mormon" and prayed about the Church and its teachings. I know it was right for me and still is. The Church and its principles have given me a sure foundation for living and for raising a good family. It has enabled me to have a personal relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ, and know that it is through Jesus Christ that my sins can be forgiven and I can return to be with my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I really try to live my religion every moment of my life. As a collector of credit card debt, I feel that being an active member in the Church has given me more compassion and understanding of people and situations we find ourselves in. I strive to remember that each person is not only a child of God, but that each is my brother or sister. I really try to represent a disciple of Jesus Christ in how I treat others. The older I get, the more I realize that we cannot make it successfully through this life without each other and services rendered unto one another. The Church is great for giving opportunities to serve each other. I try to serve in position in our Church where asked to, and to seek opportunities to help others where I can. I have learned that maybe I cannot change the world, but I just might be able to lift or ease the heavy load of another, even for a short time.
