Hi I'm Blaine

I'm from Connecticut. I'm currently serving a mission in Wellington NewZealand, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Wats up I'm Blaine. I lived and Grew up in Connecticut my whole life. I am now serving a two year service mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Wellington New Zealand until July 2013 so people now refer to me as Elder Florian. I love Snowboarding, studying my scriptures, and preaching love and peace with other well dressed guys.

Why I am a Mormon

Going to church and being a Mormon is what I have known for basically my whole life. I haven't always realized the importance of my religion, and a lot of times just took it for granted and just coasted through life, not really caring about religion and getting into no good. but through time I have been able to realize that his restored church gives me exactly what i need to be happy now and forever. I know Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Without his constant and coninual guidance I'd be a lost dog. I am a Mormon because it makes me feel closer to my family and friends, and gives me the assurance that I can live with my family and friends not only for this life, but forever! It is the only thing on this earth that has given me hope that there is something more to this life, and so now I know that God lives, that He loves us and that though Him we can obtain eternal life!

How I live my faith

Serving as a missionary for the Church is an interesting experience. As we study the Gospel in the morning, my faith grows as I see that the Bible and the Book of Mormon build upon each other. The Bible's is all good but I really find more solace in reading the Book of Mormon. Through reading it I have really learned that every gospel question or concern can be answered through the Book of Mormon and I really love sharing those same things I learn and know to be true with others. As I my share my faith with others and testify to people of the truthfulness of the gospel it is amazing to see the change it can bring to a person's life. It gives me the biggest buzz to see the change that begins with in people's hearts as they hear the message of the Restoration. It definitely makes me feel like I am doing my job, and comforts me to know that I have truly made a difference in someone's life. It is also amazing to see people sacrifice so much to be a members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here in Aotearoa. They would really do anything for the missionaries, and it has set a good example for me as to how to be more giving and more loving. So to sum it all up, I try and live my faith by sharing it with others. As a result, my faith grows because I see their faith grow. God loves His children, and He wants us to share His Gospel with those who do not have it. I live my faith by serving. When we serve others, we serve God.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

"We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists and so forth." We believe that Jesus Christ called Joseph Smith to be a prophet and to restore that same church that he had established when he was on earth. So if it is the same church, then why would Jesus organize it in a different way? Wouldn't it be organized the same? The church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is organized exactly the same as when Jesus Christ was here on earth and had apostles such as Peter James and John. Today we have apostles such as Jeffrey R. Holland, Boyd K. Packer, and L. Tom Perry. So it is like the same thing that Jesus had, except that it is in these times, which is why we are latter day saints. Ephesians 4:11 Show more Show less
