Hi I'm Elicia

I grew up mostly in Utah, but have lived in other states such as Illinois, Oregon, and Colorado. I love Cooking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to cook and make delicious foods for those that I love. I have taken some college classes, but have decided that being a missionary is what I really want to be doing with my life right now. Trying to get my feet on the ground to support myself has been stressful, but I know it is worth every minute. I know the Lord is by my side, leading me to the places I need to be to reach out to my fellow man and help them become happier, and joyful.

Why I am a Mormon

I know this church is true. It logically makes sense to me, and it answers questions that other churches try to steer away from. But most importantly, I feel the truthfulness with the spirit. The Holy Ghost bears witness to its truth every day to me. Especially when I'm struggling to keep moving forward, learning and growing. I know that Heavenly Father is always there, looking out for everyone of us. And that the Lord, Jesus Christ, has died for our sins, opening up the Gates to Heaven so that we can live with our Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I am now a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so greatful for the opportunity to be serving as a missionary and teaching others of the restored gospel. Living as a missionary is hard, but we have faith that the Lord will provide and guide us. I will be going to the West Indies to serve in a week, so it is exciting to meet the people there and learn more about them and their culture, their beliefs, concerns and joys.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Just as God has called prophets in the ancient days before Christ was on the Earth, we have prophets called of God today. We have the President of the Chruch - Thomas S. Monson, who has Two Counselors - Henry B. Erying and Dieter F. Uctdorf. But the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are called as Prophets. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

We do. As a missionary I saved up as much of the expenses as I could. My parents are paying for the rest of my mission, of which I am very grateful for. This gives me such an opportunity to meet many amazing people, help them come closer to Christ, and learn from them. I would never have given this opportunity up. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

The Bible has so many stories that can be applied into our lives. Without the Bible we would not have any history about the prophets. From those Prophets, like Moses and Abraham, we learn many truths about the Gospel, Jesus Christ's teachings. And we would not have the accounts of Christ's ministry and sacrifices he had made while following the Father's will, which results in our salvation if we follow him. Show more Show less
