Hi I'm Andrew

I am from Utah. I am a student. I enjoy music and learning aobut it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music, people, and enjoying the outdoors. I am a husband and have been married for almost one year and my wife and I are expecting a baby son in January of 2015! My focus in study at Utah State University is Music Education. I love playing jazz music on the saxophone. Having an Associates Degree from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, I only have two more years before I should be able to get a job. One day, I hope to be able to teach in a Junior High School so that I can inspire young people just as my band teacher inspired me. Other hobbies of mine include running, people, and studying Finnish. I served as an LDS Missionary in Finland from July 2011 - August 2013. All of these things are very important to me and help me enjoy life as much as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the Mormon ways my enture life, and as I've gone throughout my life, I've come to learn how great these ways are. Though these things may seem hard and difficult at times, I know that in the very end, they are what is best for us. They are hard, but they help us to grow in ways that we cannot comprehend. God loves us, and He wants us to follow Him because He knows that this is what will bring us the greatest happiness. The LDS Church, if put as a top priority in our lives, can be a great blessing. I am grateful and honored to be a member of this Church.

How I live my faith

I have had several opportunities to serve by being a Mormon. Throughout my youth, I've been able to lead the youth in my area. I've also played the piano for our congregations to sing. As I've grown older, I've had the opportunity to plan activities for young and single adults as well as teach young children about Jesus Christ. I served as an LDS Missionary in Finland from July 2011 to August 2013. Learning so serve others has brought tremendous joys in my life. One thing that really helps me live my faith is to ask the simple question, "What would Jesus do?" The thing that has helped me to be happiest in life is to learn about how Jesus Christ lived His life and then try to follow that example. I try to love others for who they are, not in order to get personal gain. I've learned that life is best spent when we are serving others and not striving for fame or fortune.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

I have come to realize that our full potential for happiness is not available without this gift that Christ gave for us. Heavenly Father loves us so much and wants us to be able to return to live with Him so that we can partake of all that He has to give to us. We are not able to do so because of our imperfections, but the Atonement pays the price we cannot pay to be able to return to our loving Heavenly Father's presence. Show more Show less
