Hi I'm Cameron

I'm a Cancer Survivor. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was 16 years old, I was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma a rare form of bone cancer in my leg. After a year and a half of painful surgeries, chemotherapy, and emergency room visits, I am now 2 years cancer free. This experience changed my life. I now spend most of my time serving others in organzations like Make-a-Wish, American Cancer Society, and Imerman's Angels. I love it! I am a huge outdoors person. I love camping, hiking, rock climbing, and anything outside. My favorite thing to do is Snowboarding. Just the feeling you get from being up in the mountains outside and trusting in yourself and your abilities is just amazing. Even while going through chemotherapy treatments I would still go, even though my doctors were against it, It was just something I needed and something I couldnt give up. I am a student. I really enjoy learning and doing well in school. I am currently studying Biology and working towards Medical School. One day I hope to be able to help kids like me get back to the things they love and let them know that with a positive attitude you can accomplish anything. Another one of my many passions is music. I really enjoy listening to it, attending concerts, and most of all playing it. I play guitar, ukulele, and the mandolin. Its an awesome way to express your self and most importantly a way to deal with emotions.

Why I am a Mormon

Im a Mormon because I love the freedom it gives me. It allows me to make my own decisions. Through council from living prophets and the teachings from the Book of Mormon, I am better able to overcome temptation that would enslave me. The gospel brings me true happiness, not in worldly things, but rather through my freedom. My favorite part is that it answers the three big questions Where am I from? Why am I here? and most importantly, Where am I going after this life? It brings me great comfort to know that through the gospel of Jesus Christ, which the fullness of it is contained in this church, I will live after this life with my family for all eternity. It gives me so much comfort, especially during the times that I was very close to death, comfort that I can not express into words.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I participate and serve in many great causes. I love serving my fellow men and sharing with them a message that has greatly changed my life for the better. I love this gospel, I love this church, and I know it can help you. Wherever you are, whatever you are going through, it can and it will help you. I would never have been able to go through what I went through without this church. I am currently serving an LDS mission in San Antonio, Texas.
