Hi I'm Tanner Wright

I am 100% utahn, I have climbed over 30,000 verticle, biked over 1000 miles, am an Eagle Scout, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being outdoors. I have climbed the Grand Teton and am an avid cycleist. I love to kayack and water and snow ski. I play several instruments including piano, flute, and little guitar. I come from a large famiy of 10, and love to eat. Some of my hobbies are kayacking, watching really old movies, and making a mess in the kictchen. I have never had pet, other than a little pet brother, and beleive bacon and butter are their own food groups. I also have a girlfriend, who just joined the Marine Corps. I graduated high school June first and one month later headed out for my mission. I am currently serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. I left behind skiing, a job, a beautiful woman, my road bike, my friends and family to serve the lord. I didn't choose to do this out of obligation to my parents or anyone else, but because I wanted to serve him, and wanted to share my love and knowledge of the truthfulness of The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Some say that I am way to happy and must not be getting my medication, but I am nothing more than high on life, and I love to live, and love to have the knowledge that I do about this church and Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I am mormon, but some of the biggest reasons are that I read from The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ and was filled with the spirit. When I prayed, willing to do whatever the lord required, he gave me an answer that the book was and is indeed true by the power of the Holy Ghost. Another factor is that I love my family. I do feel that a loving father in heaven would want us to be with them for all eternity. But it only makes sense that we would only be able to be with them if he allowed it and willed it. The power to seal things on earth as well in heaven is essential for families to be "locked in" and secure. Like a domino effect, with the Book of Mormon being true, that power was restored to the earth and the authority to use those keys of binding families is held within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have also come to the understanding of the importance of sacrifice. While we do not put a sacrifical lamb on the altar, we do sacrifice what is asked of us. Our time, means, talents, and other efforts for the benifit of others. While praise and appreciation can be granted and given, these sacrifices are not for the praise nor acknowledgement of man, but for our love of our father in heaven. Thus, if there is no effort going into it, how can it become something great. Likewise, for the greatest gifts god can give, he requires the greatest sacrifice we can give, so that he can give us the greatest gift of his sons atonement. I have come to firm beleif, near knowledge, that Jesus is the Christ. He did suffer in the garden, die on the cross, and did in fact rise on the third day, the Bible and Bool of Mormon bearing witness and record of it. I give my testimony that through his enableing atonement, all mankind can feel of his redeeming love, and put their faith into action to do as the savior directs, and "follow [him]" by having faith, repenting of their sins, being baptized, and Enduring to the end.

How I live my faith

A call was given to the apostles in the Bible to go forth and spread the gospel to every nation kindred tounge and people. Right now I am serveing the lord with 100% of my time for two years. After that I will continue to live my life in such a way as the savior would have me live. I also try to be an example of being happy. The lord gave me an uncanny ability to be very happy all of the time. And I try to share that contagious excitement with everyone. I do my best to keep the commandments and strive dilligently to keep the promises I have made with the lord. I do this by striving to keep the sabbath day holy, keeping language clean, and keeping my conduct in harmony with that of the spirit of the lord. I study from the scriptures daily and try to pray everyday with sincerity and real intent. The lord has also given a call for all of us to serve others, and so I love to seek oportunities to offer service of any kind, wether it be mowing the grass, moving a bed, or dropping by with some ice cream, I try to answer as the savior would.
