Hi I'm Greg

Hi! I love to ride bicycles, run, and work with kids! I am a first grade teacher, but most of all, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a divorced father of three. My children are outstanding, whom I love with all my heart. I don't get to see them much, so that's why I turned to bicycling and running. There are lots of great trails that I ride and run. Sometimes, it's just me and nature. I get to see of lot of God's beautiful creations. I have learned that I can push myself more than I knew I was ever capable of doing. Working with kids is one of the things that I enjoy most. I teach first graders and they are able to help me see new things everyday. Life is always interesting through their eyes! Hopefully, I can share somethings that might help them on their journey through life. Maybe it is just to let them know that they are loved and that someone really cares about them! On Sundays, I get to work with some wonderful teenagers. Am I worried about the future? Not with these young women and men! I can say that I am blessed!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I was born into a family whose parents were also members of the church. I was taught from a very early age by my mother to be a good person and always strive to be the best I could be. I have had other great friends and leaders who were very influential in my life, but the choice was always mine. I was never forced. I made the choice as I do today to the live the gospel of Jesus Christ. Have I made mistakes along the way? Yes, I have! Don't we all? I am not perfect, but by abiding to the principals of the gospel I truly have peace and happiness. I know that because of my Savior, Jesus Christ, through his atonement, I can be forgiven and I will have the opportunity to live with Him and my Heavenly Father again. Because I the Atonement, my Friend, my Savior, suffered the pains of mankind. He felt my heartbreak of divorce, He knows how I felt and He was able to succor me in my time of need. He loves me as he loves you. I share with you that I know that there is a Father in Heaven and we are his offspring and that He wants us to return and live with Him again. Just as any parent would want the best for their children! He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to show, guide, and help us so we can live with them again. I know this to be true!!!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. Somedays are harder than others because of what goes on in the world, but I know who I am. I am a child of God and because of that I can have the strength and ability to overcome life's trials! Because I try to live my faith, I have found that I am a better example to those around me. I have a smile on my face that I can share with others. I have been able to be a strength to those around me, especially to those who have suffered the pains of divorce. On Sundays, I have the great opportunity to teach a Sunday School class of about 10 teenagers. I love working with them. They teach me as I teach them. Two of my children are the same age as those in my class. This class helps me to see what my own kids face each day. This class is strong! They live their faith everyday and are wonderful examples. Living my faith helps me to center my life more around the Savior and helps me to be more like Him!

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Greg
This law of health or Word of Wisdom has been helpful for me through out my life. This law talks about things we shouldn't take into our bodies that can cause us harm, but it also tells us good things to that we can take into our bodies. Those things are the bases for healthy diets that people use today! I know that because I follow this, I can walk and not be weary and run and not faint. This is one of the great blessings that comes by abiding this Word of Wisdom! Show more Show less
