Hi I'm Vickie.

I grew up in Queensland but have lived in several Australian states. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with 4 children and 9 grandchildren. I went to university after raising my children and became a Primary School teacher, majoring in Early Childhood, a job which I love. I teach in an Anglican School. I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading good books, pottery and barbecues at the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I always believed in God as far back as I can remember in my life. I was first introduced to the church when I was a child of 8 years old and joined, even though my parents did not. We moved a lot and so did not always attend church. However, at 13 I found a member family who lived nearby that could give me a ride to church and began attending regularly. I loved attending church and felt good about the teachings of Jesus Christ. At 15 I decided I should pray about the Book of Mormon and find out if it was a book of scripture. I received a strong witness that it was and that Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet who was called by God to restore the fulness of the gospel to the earth. I met my husband at a church youth dance. He was a less-active member of the church. We attended church together and were married and sealed in the Temple for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

I am currently a youth leader in the church and organise weekly activities and Sunday lessons for young women aged 12 to 18. I continue to pray daily, read the scriptures and attend church to know more about Jesus Christ and how I can best serve and help others.
