Hi I'm Becky

I'm a Mormon. I have been for nearly all of my life.

About Me

I am 58 years old, my five children are grown and moved away. I have been married for nearly 40 years. I love to read and do lots of crafts especially knitting, crocheting and jewelry making. I am an office manager at an elementary school and will start my 23rd year this fall. My husband is a drywall contractor. I have one son and my daughter living in Utah, one son in Idaho, and one son in Wyoming and one son is here in Washington. They are all married and have families. We live on a peninsula in the Puget Sound so there is lots of water here and we enjoy that. We have lived in our home for over 20 years and are always remodeling something.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents met some members, were fellowshipped and taught the gospel. They joined the church when I was about three years old. I grew up in the church and while I struggled from time to time with my testimony as I was growing up, I am very grateful now to have my membership and the blessings of the gospel. My husband and I went through a short time of inactivity. My husband was in the service and shortly after we were married, we moved to Spain. We loved our military ward there. When we returned home, we just didn't seem to fit in. We had a couple of children and we realized we wanted them to have the church in their lives. I was called as a counselor in the RS presidency from inactivity and we have enjoyed the blessings of full activity ever since. I believe this is God's church on earth. I believe in the prophet Joseph Smith and those that have followed after him and continue to lead us. I know I am a daughter of God and that he loves me and he is aware of my struggles and challenges and stands ready to help me if I will just trust him. I know the church is perfect but the members are human and make mistakes. None of us are perfect but we should be here for each other so we can all return to live with our father someday.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the first counselor in the presidency of the organization that serves the young women of the church ages 12 - high school graduation. My specific responsiblity is for the girls 14 & 15 years old. love the girls I get to work with. They are amazing and give me such hope. They will be the mothers of the future and will raise their famlies in righteousness. My husband also teaches youth - the young men ages 14 & 15.
