Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a funny girl, a dancer, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to dance, wakeboard, spend time in the sun, go to movies and eat popcorn. I studied dance and health in college. I love spending time with my family and look forward to having a family of my own someday. I love to travel and learn about other people from all over the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Every time I pray I feel Heavenly Father's presence. He sends me his spirit to testify to me that this church is true. And that is why I've continued to stay faithful.

How I live my faith

I'm a member of a Single's ward (for those of us who don't have spouses or families yet) and I've been called to teach gospel principles to the women in the church. I love teaching because it always reaffirms my testimony and what I believe.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Melissa
I personally believe that we are saved by grace. I know this is true because many scriptures have taught me this and because I have a testimony of Christ's atonement. I know that Christ died to save each one of us. Without that single most important event in history we would continue to live as a fallen people forever. However, if we don't change we also will continue to be a fallen people forever. Works help us change. Some examples of works include serving, which humbles us. Another is being baptized which shows obedience to Christ. Seeing as how He was perfect and was baptized how much more do we need to be baptized. Another is attending church which helps us learn to ever emulate our Savior. Grace and works work together in helping us return to our Heavenly Father. Grace is given freely while change comes to those who put there faith in Christ and act upon that faith. Show more Show less
