Hi I'm Jennifer

I am a wife, a mother, daughter, sister, teacher, friend. I love kids, genealogy, families. I love my Savior. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom, a daughter a sister, and a teacher. In 1995 I graduated with a degree in elementary education but I have not taught outside of the home, yet. I have 6 children in 4 different levels of school that keep me busy every day. One of my favorite parts of the day is when I drive my kids to early morning seminary where I can pray and ponder the scriptures. It makes my whole day go better! My favorite hobby is doing genealogy. It brings history alive for me if I can imagine my ancestors living through different periods of time. I love knowing who they were and what they did. I also enjoy reading, hiking, biking, swimming and playing games-all with my family. I am interested in learning-I love taking classes at the university. I love learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ and sharing what I learn with others. I am a mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't always think that I wanted to be a mormon. My parents joined when I was about 3 or 4. My Dad left us when I was about 5. I grew up having 2 roads to choose from. My Mom stayed active in church and worked hard to support us and teach us the gospel. Sometimes I rebelled-a lot. Many times the Spirit broke thru my teenage confusion and bore witness to me of sacred truths. Today, I am a mormon because of one of those truths and many others that followed. After we had been members of the church for a year our family was sealed in the temple. I was 4 and I remember the feeling there like it was yesterday. I felt my Heavenly Father's love wash over me in a way that felt like he was there holding me. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that He loved ME!!! As a child and a teenager, I took paths that didn't make me happy. Always, at times when I felt the most desperate to be loved, that feeling would return and I would know He loved me, STILL! Even though I felt like a total screw-up, He never gave up on me. I had to find the right road and when I did I felt, and continue to feel, the unconditional love of my Heavenly Father. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he loves me and every one of his children. I know he waits for us to turn to him so we can recognize all the ways he's reaching for us. He loves us no matter what we've done or where we've been. I want others to know that they are literally spirit children of a loving Heavenly Father. I learned this when I was a child and it has been confirmed over and over to me. I Know Heavenly Father loves me and that's why I am a mormon!

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things to do is to volunteer in libraries. At my kids' school or in the family history library-I love to help people learn and discover new things. I love working with kids and am the president of the children's organization at church-it's called the primary. Working with the kids is the best treat ever. I love listening to them sing, share stories and things they have learned. I love their sweet, teachable spirits that hunger after good things. I love working with the youth of our church, also. I missed going to girls camp this year but am hoping to go on a week long camp next year with the girls in our area. I have gone 5 out of the last 6 years. I also love doing youth conference with the kids ages 14-18. This year our 3 day conference was a pioneer handcart trek. An important lesson learned and re-learned there is that prayer is the best answer for any trial and that complaining never helps any situation. I am happiest when I serve others and remember to be thankful for all that Heavenly Father gives me. I enjoy helping my parents and Grandma who live close by. Spending time with my family playing, working, and doing crazy things makes me happy. I try to learn from the life of the Savior about how to best live my life and teach these things to my children. Sometimes we drive each other nuts but I am so grateful for the moments when we work together perfectly or someone helps another in a kind way. Then I know that all the time and energy have been worth it.
