Hi I'm Jean Marie

I'm a PhD student. I spend parts of the year in Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I get home from work, I love to go out on walks. Walks are the best time to think! I am reading Gone with the Wind, and I'm in love with the characters, particularly Rhett Butler! I am also a PhD student in public health, and I have a deep desire to do humanitarian work overseas. I know that we are here on this earth to help each other. I heard it said once that service is the rent we pay for living on this earth. I believe that! Although I'm not a mother, I study maternal depression. I am nearly 30, very happy, single, and a Christian.

Why I am a Mormon

I want you to know that I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through the teachings of Jesus Christ, I am certain that I am a daughter of God and I know what I can do to become close to Him and return to live with Him. I know that He loves me and He loves you. He is our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, loves each of us too! He paid the price for our sins and He is capable of redeeming and glorifying and cleansing us. I choose to continue to be a member of this church and follow the prophet because I know that this church contains the recipe for peace in this life. I know I can live my fullest potential by listening to Him and His apostles and prophets. It is wonderful to me to have this knowledge in my life! I know He lives! I know this church is true!

How I live my faith

I am living in Nebraska right now for the summer, but even though I am away from my home state, I can still attend church services. In fact, I love that wherever I go in this world I will be able to locate a church building and be welcomed by the church members. I know that we are brothers and sisters and children of our Heavenly Father! While I am away from my home state, I can still go to church activities, participate fully in the services, and make friends whom I feel comfortable asking for help or assistance. We are truly family in this church and I am so grateful for that. We help each other live the gospel and be obedient to God which is a wonderful support to have. We recognize that we have the same goal: To live with God again.
