Hi I'm Shalece

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT. I love to laugh, sing, and play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college graduate who loves life. I received my degree in Marketing and am now working for Union Pacific railroad here in the Midwest. I love to sing, dance, play the piano, and perform. I used to be in a performing group but since that ended karaoke is my outlet for performing! I love to travel and was able to go around the world in a month last summer. The places I visited were incredible, some of which included France, Switzerland, Italy, China, and Japan. I greatly enjoyed learning about new cultures and hope to be able to do more traveling in my future. I love to be active and enjoy being outdoors. I play tennis and hope to one day be able to go to Wimbledon and watch the pros on the grass courts. I love boating, water skiing, and just being in the water. I also enjoy the beauties of nature all around me. No matter where I am I can find something beautiful about my surroundings. God's creations here on earth truly are amazing and I love to be outside near them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it provides purpose, meaning, and direction to my life. I know who I am (a daughter of God), where I came from (Heaven), the reason I am on this earth (to be tried, tested, and proven to be worthy to return to my Heavenly Father once again), and I know where I am going (back to Heaven once my life here on earth is through). Because I know these things I live a certain way. I know the only way to get back to my Heavenly Father is to abide my His precepts, keep His commandments, and live the type of life He would have me live. I am a Mormon because having the true gospel in my life brings me such great joy and hope. I know the world is becoming a scary place to live in and there are many troublesome times ahead, but I do not worry. I know the Lord will provide and that what happens is His will. The Lord knows everything from beginning to end and has a plan. I trust in the Lord and know that what happens in my life is according to His plan and He is doing everything He can to help me return to Him once again. I am a Mormon because I know this gospel is true. I know that the Lord and his son Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and that Joseph Smith, through the power of the Lord, restored this gospel to the earth in these latter days. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and that it is the word of God. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson, who talks to the Lord and gives us guidance so that we might stay on the straight and narrow path that leads back to Heaven. I am a Mormon because it has taught me that Heavenly Father loves me. I know I am loved and am continually being watched over by Him. I know that he hears my prayers, every single one. I know that I always have someone there for me who is rooting for me and there to help me through any trial I might face in life. Finally, I am a Mormon because I want to be. I wouldn't have my life be any other way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the Lord's commandments daily. I choose to be obedient because I know He will bless me. I live my faith by personally progressing daily in the gospel. I read my scriptures which includes the Bible, The Book of Mormon, and words from the prophet and apostles. I say my prayers and communicate directly with my Heavenly Father daily and ask to have His spirit be with me. I am active in the gospel and attend church every Sunday. Attending church is the greatest thing and gives me a great start to my week. It lifts me up and gets me ready for the challenges I may face in the upcoming days. I also attend Family Home Evening every Monday night and other ward activities when they are scheduled. I go to the temple as often as I can to receive the great blessings that come from being in the temple, the house of the Lord. I love the temple. Not only are temples beautiful on the outside, but the feelings I feel and the experiences I have in the temple are even more amazing. I also serve in my ward. I have had many different opportunities to serve and help the ward with all of it's responsibilities. Most recently I have been asked to help coordinate and plan Family Home Evening every Monday night. I work on finding ward members to teach a quick lesson and then creating a fun activity that helps ward members meet one another and make friends. I love having a responsibility in the ward. It helps me give back and build the Lord's kingdom which is the most important work I can do on this earth.
