Hi I'm Mike

I'm Mike I've been married to my wife Debbie for 31 years and have four sons and four grandkids. We current live in Nebraska

About Me

I am a father of four sons three are married with one still in High School. My sons and I find enjoyment in riding four wheelers. We also are into hunting deer, camping. and cars. My wife and I have been married for 31 years. We have lived in six different states. We have one son that has gone to school in just one state so far. The others have attended school in as many as five different states. They all have their favorite place and friends in every state. I have worked in sales for over 25 years.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife and I have been members of four different churches. We never felt that we were at home to stay until now. My family and I moved to Oregon. We attended a church our family members were going to. My wife and I had talked about the church that we had trouble with what was being taught. She spoke to our sister in-law who was a inactive member of the church. After many long nights of talking we (her family and ours) all came to the agreement to call the missionaries. So we started taking lessons. I remember meeting with the missionaries and what they were teaching me I already believed to be true. Which was surpising to them because of our back round. I had worked with members and had members living next door to us before we moved. But no one had ever opened their mouth and shared the gospel with me. I remember telling my dad when we joined the church. His response was "you know then what is right for you". Never a negative word came out of his mouth about it even to his last days. He attend church with us and asked to have his funeral at our ward building at our church. This church has blessed not only me but my family also. It's teachings and programs have blessed my sons. It has taught them great values that bless each of them.

How I live my faith

I have had the pleasure to be able to place Church historial markers within our ward boundaries. I have worked on projects like providing service to the elderly ladies in our city by doing yard work, cleaning road sides, maintaining city parks and other projects. It is a blessing to me to serve others. You get the chance to feel the Savors love as you serve His children. We lived in area where we had a Home Teacher that would call us each month to see what message would help us with our sons. He was such a good home teacher. He had a personal love for everyone in our family. At the same time we had a bishop who asked us to help one another. We were in a young ward with students and young couple/families. He had us fill out talent sheets in priesthood meetings. Soon we were doing service for each other and saving each other money, by doing things like brake job, reroofing homes and all sorts of home maintance. And all this was known to each other through our talent sheets we had filled out. These projects gave me the opportunities to teach my sons and they also got to see the examples of others being in the serivice of others. It was a great teaching tool showing us how to forget yourself and think of others
