Hi I'm Cindy

I'm a Mormon. I enjoy my family and friends. I live where there are not many members of the Church.

About Me

I am married and have five grown children. Three are married and I have nine grandchildren. I have a degree in Elementary Education from BYU and taught First Grade before having my family. I have been a "stay at home" mom as I raised our family. I have done lots of volunteer work for Church, Schools, and a local hospital. I enjoy cooking, sewing, decorating, and painting and wall papering my home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family but like any latter-day saint, I had to gain my own testimony. I read the Book of Mormon, studied and prayed. I remember gaining a strong testimony at the age of 15. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ here on the earth after he prayed with great faith to know which Church he should join. I know we have prophets here on the earth today just as in biblical times to lead and guide us. I know this through the power of the Holy Ghost. I have felt it and know. I know that this church has the same organization and teachings that Christ himself taught and organized while on the earth. The true authority to act in Christ's name is again on the earth. Jesus Christ is indeed my Savior and Redeemer. He is the son of God and through him we will all be resurrected and can be forgiven of our sins. His atonement is real.

How I live my faith

I try each day to live the commandments which Christ has set forth for us. I study the scriptures (The Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price) each day. I try to live my life the way the Lord would have me live. I pray with my husband day and night and with my family each day when they are here. I also say my individual prayers. I try to serve others. I have served as President of the Primary (Children's Organization), Young Women Organization, and Relief Society (Women's Organization). I have taught all ages. I visiting teach a few sisters each month to see how I can help them. I have a long way to go to be perfect as I strive to "be ye therefore perfect, even as I am perfect" as the Savior tells us in the Holy Bible but I am trying my best. I now volunteer one day a week at a gift shop in a local hospital.

What is being a Mormon like?

It's wonderful. I find happiness in the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It gives me a purpose and a guide in my life. I love attending church every Sunday and partaking of the sacrament. Show more Show less
