Hi I'm Steven

I love sports and music, enjoy helping others, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 in my family and I love it! I enjoy basketball it's a way I can relieve stress and stay athletic. I also am a runner, I participated in Track and Cross Country in high school it was a blast! Let's see I also enjoy singing, playing the piano, riding bikes, going white-river rafting, camping with my family, and going on intense 50 mile hikes!! I'm an Eagle Scout and I try hard to lead by example. I have been shy since a very young age, but I am working on it and striving to overcome this weakness. I know that our Savior Jesus Christ can help me overcome my weaknesses and anyone else who needs the strength to overcome it.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this church and the Book of Mormon is true without a shadow of a doubt. Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, I KNOW this with every fiber of my being. Every person in the world could say he wasn't, but a testimony by the power of the Holy Ghost (answers come through feelings and people can't deny feeling in love or at peace with a decision) is more powerful then anything.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we are taught to love everyone (including our enemies) and to serve each other. I strive each and every day to put a smile on somebody's face, because it makes them feel better as well as myself. We also have callings, which are things our leaders ask us to do to help serve. I have been given the opportunity to teach and to delegate assignments for our Monday activities which have a spiritual thought, games and just being together. I have become close with these amazing people because I have made sure to be there for all of them during the week. I try my hardest to show everyone around me that are loved, and that does not include just members of the church but everyone I come in contact with.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Steven
We believe that eternal life is something that is wonderful and a goal that I want to achieve. Living with Our Loving Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ and our families for eternity. As long as we keep God's commandments, repent (acknowledge that sinned, feel sorrow for what we've done, pray, do everything we can to fix it, and make a promise with God not to do it again), be baptized and keep the promise that comes through baptism (covenant), receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end. Endure to the End simply means to the best that we can, and continue doing those things that Heavenly Father and Jesus want us to do. Honestly it is tough to always to try to do what's right, but Heavenly Father has helped me through struggles even though I'm nowhere near perfect. What matters is that we do the best that we can and Our Savior will make up the rest through grace, of course after all we can do. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Steven
Faith means to "hope for things which are not seen, which are true". Faith is acting on the belief and hope that we have. Faith is more then a belief in God, it's to trust in him, have confidence, and to be willing to act on that belief like I said before. Without faith, hope, and charity (pure love of Christ) we can't make it back to God again. That's why it's so critical to love our neighbor as thyself and God, to hope for things, and to have faith necessary to act. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Steven
Missionaries proselyte to help others come unto Christ it's as simple as that. Also to bring happines, joy and peace to around us. We as missionaries want to share the message that we have, because of the joy it brings into our lives, we want others (our brothers and sisters) to have that joy as well. Show more Show less
