Hi I'm Dale

I grew up in Washington, am married with four children, served 23 years in the US Army with one deployment, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent 23 years in the Army and had the opportunity to travel around the United States and other parts of the world including trips to the Middle East as well as small islands in the far Pacific ocean. For now I've settled down to a regular city job. But first and foremost I'm a husband and father. My family has been my greatest focus for the past 28 years of marriage, learning how to live happily together and watching my children grow and mature through each stage of life. My interests and hobbies really revolve around my family. We do a little skiing, biking, hiking. We play board games, read books and like to watch movies together.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, at a young age I took the Book of Mormon promise to heart and read it and prayed with a sincere desire to know if it was a true book and a sure witness of the divinity of Jesus Christ. In time, the answer came with a burning conviction in my soul. Since then I have applied the same formula to the Bible and received the same assurance. The Bible stands as a sure witness of Jesus Christ as our Savior. The Book of Mormon is a second witness, along with the Bible, of the divinity of Jesus Christ, Son of God. In a nutshell that is why I'm a Mormon. Sure, I was raised in the LDS church by faithful practicing mormon parents, but it's my personal conviction of the truthfulness of this church that keeps me going. I encourage anyone reading this to take the Book of Mormon challenge: read it, ponder its teachings, then, pray sincerely to know if it is a book from God. I know if you do this, Heavenly Father, in His good time, will answer your humble prayer with a sure witness of its truthfulness. I have made it a lifelong quest to study truth, always seeking guidance from Heaven to know truth from error. And I'm happy to say that a loving Heavenly Father has never let me down. God's mercy is abundant.

How I live my faith

My faith is part of my everyday life. It's not just a Sunday thing. I strive to observe daily prayers and scripture study by myself and with my family. Just as important is daily service to others both in the church and out of the church. For most of my adult life I've been involved in working with the youth of the church or with the missionary program of the church. Having fun while serving is an important part of my faith as well. And working with the youth, that's not too hard to accomplish.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Dale
As a bishop in the church, I've seen first hand how individuals and families who learn and promote self-reliance by striving to live within their means and giving generously to the fast offering fund bless not only their own lives but countless others' lives. Show more Show less
